School worker charged with rape of 13-year-old Nottingham pupil

A MEMBER of staff at a Nottingham school has been charged with raping a 13-year-old female pupil.

Mikhail Mohammad, 44, of Radford, allegedly attacked the girl on November 29 last year.

He has appeared in court and is next due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on March 11.

Mohammad, who is now remanded in custody, is also charged with fraud, by failing to disclose information.

Neither the victim nor the school she attends can be identified by the Post for legal reasons.

A statement released by the school today said: "In line with our normal procedures, we carried out an enhanced CRB check on the individual concerned before he was appointed and this came back clear.

"When we were alerted to the incident that involved this person, he was immediately suspended and he has subsequently been dismissed. The alleged rape happened away from the school and not during the school day.

"Our main priority is now on supporting the pupil involved and ensuring that she has access to all the help and guidance that she needs at this very difficult time."

One mother, whose daughter attends the school, said she was angry parents had not been told about the incident.

"The incident happened a few weeks ago but no letters have gone to parents," she said.
