Hit TV show inspires musical youngsters

STEALING THE SHOW: Students inspired by cult TV series Glee have formed their own club.

An all-singing, all-dancing Glee Club has been set up at Newcastle College.

The club, inspired by the hit U.S. television series, is meeting on Mondays for 10 weeks, from 4pm to 5pm, in the college's auditorium.

Members will get help to improve their vocals, dance coordination and overall musical theatre performance.

Josef Bailey, the college's Glee Club co-ordinator, said: "I'm extremely pleased we have such a diverse group of students involved.

"I can already see some great talent within the group."

After 10 weeks, the members will perform to other students, friends and family. Pictured, from left, are pupils Hannah Collett, Hannah Beetson, Amber Tunney, Licyy-Anne Tatton and Samantha Braley.
