Oscar link for town's panto

A FORTHCOMING amateur pantomime production is claiming a link with an Oscar-nominated film.

Cheadle Amateur Theatrical Society's Dick Whittington features Dan Ede, who appeared as an extra in The King's Speech.

The 30-year-old, from Checkley, plays Dame Beyonce Bun in the panto, which will run at Cheadle Community Theatre from Wednesday, February 23 to Saturday, February 26.

Writer and director Ian Wood said: "This is the first script I have ever written and the first thing I've ever directed, so we are all holding our breath and truly hope that our audience will enjoy the show."

Dan, who was one of 100 people from Staffordshire who worked as extras on The King's Speech, has also appeared in TV shows Doctors and Coronation Street.

Tickets for the panto, which cost 6 for adults and 4 for concessions, are available by calling 01538 751173.
