Let your inner Stokie ring out from your mobile

PERSONALISED Potteries dialect ringtones can now be downloaded – thanks to a city firm.

Moorland Pottery, in Burslem, has recorded a series of 11 ringtones which now sit alongside their popular Stokie Ware ceramic cups.

Downloads include well known phrases including 'Cost kick a bo agen a wo an yed it till it bosts?'

There are also quirky lines to download such as: 'If that's thee mother matherin', tell her I 'onner in'.

The director, Jonathan Plant, said it had all been intended as a bit of fun for fans of its wares.

He said there was nothing financial to gain from offering the ringtones to fans of the Potteries dialect.

Mr Plant said: "We went down to the studio with a local guy called Howard Reynolds and just recorded a few phrases that we thought would make people smile.

"There's nothing financial to gain from it, but it helps to extend the brand that we've created," he added. The company has also created a Facebook site where people can post pictures of the firm's Stokie Bloke from around the world.
