United wasted a chance to go nine points clear of second-placed Arsenal after being held to a frustrating 0-0 draw at Newcastle on Tuesday.
That has given fresh hope to Arsenal, who can close the gap before next month's home game against United.
The leaders also face a tough fixture against third-placed Chelsea in May, but England midfielder Carrick is confident Sir Alex Ferguson's side will hold their advantage in the final weeks.
“We are still in a good position. We have got tough games ahead, but they (Arsenal and Chelsea) have got tough games too,” Carrick said.
“We don't want to be looking at results too much, we want to be winning games ourselves.
“We just roll on. This is what we want to be doing, playing in the big games coming thick and fast.”
The main talking point of Tuesday's draw at St James' Park came in the closing moments when United striker Javier Hernandez went down in the area under Danny Simpson's challenge, only for referee Lee Probert to ignore the visitors' penalty claims and book the Mexican for diving.
The decision could have gone either way but Ferguson criticised Probert and Carrick agreed that it was a clear penalty.
“You can see it on the telly, there is contact,” he said.
“It's disappointing when you don't get them because we thought it was another late goal for us, but you just have to deal with it and move on.
“It's not the end of the world at all, we are still in a good position.
“It's not what we set out to do, but we move on. We need to bounce back with a big game on Saturday (at home to Everton).” – Sapa-AFP
