14-year-old boy appears in court over Arnold house fire murder

A 14-YEAR-OLD boy, who was charged with murder after a woman's body was found at the scene of a house fire, has been remanded into custody.
A post-mortem examination revealed the woman had died from head injuries.
The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before magistrates today at the Nottingham Youth Court.
A bail application was refused by Nottingham Crown Court this afternoon.
Judge John Milmo ruled that the boy should remain in local authority secure accommodation.
He was wearing a dark blue track-suit as he appeared in the courtroom's dock and members of his family were also in the courtroom.
He was arrested after the blaze in Georgia Drive, in Redhill, Arnold, at around 1.10am on Monday..
The victim has since been formally identified as 47-year-old Jacqueline Bartlam, who lived at the address.
